Our Client is a leading multi-billion dollar Investment Institute and currently seeking a Head of Risk Management to work closely alongside the CEO and Investment Management team.

The role is with an Institutional Investor and offers the candidate the opportunity to build the Risk function from ground up. We are seeking Senior Risk Management professionals from SWFs or Pension Funds (Asset Owners) not Treasury or Commercial banking backgrounds. Candidates should have an excellent grasp of Risk Management and in particular Market, Operational and Strategic Risk.

You be involved in International Asset Manager Selection, Portfolio Monitoring and Due Diligence; and Risk Assessments for Asset Allocations. You will have excellent communication, leadership and presentations skills; as you will sit on Board and educate the BoD on Risk Management. We are looking for clear and concise Risk Professionals who have the ability to present to the BoD in simple terms with clear direction and focus. Someone who can look at the worst case scenario and suggest the best approach to protect Assets. Individuals must have credibility and ideally some business interactions or knowledge of the regional market (GCC), and must be willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia.

Requirements

- Minimum 10-12 years Risk Management experience with experience within an Asset Owner (SWF/Pension Fund etc) covering Market, Operational and Strategic Risk.
- Good experience of Fund/Asset Manager Selection, Monitoring and Due Diligence
- Strong Communications and Presentation experience, with experience of presenting to BoD and Senior Management
- Excellent grasp of Risk Management and in particular Market, Operational and Strategic Risk
- Sound experience Risk Modeling and Analysis of Strategic Asset Allocations, Actual Portfolio, and Benchmark Comparatives
- Masters Degree and FRM or equivalent qualifications preferred. CFA a an advantage.
- Ideally with GCC exposure.
