Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Highly challenging role, where the ideal candidate will have to be proactive and thorough in their risk management, being able to anticipate risks not encountered before.

- With ambitious growth targets the job holder will have to think outside the box constantly to create new solutions with the full support and agreement from senior management.

- Developing new reports/systems, in close liaison with I.T teams will be a key requirement.

- High communication with all SME teams and Head-Office departments. Also with CBG/ Retail when covering for the relevant risk heads.

- Lead the SME Risk team effectively, promoting team work, adequate empowerment and ensuring all team members are full knowledgeable and compliant with the banks policies.

- Exercise sound judgement and discretion while reviewing all credit proposals for SME, approve, declining and recommending as appropriate.

- Review and analyze credit proposals for SME with regards to quality of assets, pricing, structuring and financial information. -Ensuring optimal credit quality of the SME lending portfolio

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have as follows;

- MBA/ Professional accountancy degree (CA/CFA)
- Minimum of 15 years Banking experience
- Minimum of 10 years Risk Management experience (Advantageous prior experience covering Corporate Credit, Retail, FI Credit and Market Risk.)
- Strong Balance Sheet analysis skills
- Good Credit assessment, structuring and documentation skills
- Full understanding of Bank's regulations
- Thorough knowledge of international developments in Basel and industry best practice
- Thorough understanding of new derivative products, and the associated risks
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, project management, results orientated, self-confidence in decision making with keen attention to detail
