Health & Safety Manager, Electro-mechanical

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading electro-mechanical contractor, is seeking to recruit qualified professional to implement Health and Safety Management System at Projects Sites, Work areas, Workshops and Labor-camp where all Site Staff are accountable for Health & Safety Management Systems.

Accordingly, the job-holder should be:
- Fully familiar with H&S legislation that related to projects sites
- Able to advise and assist Projects Managers in implementing the guidelines given in H&S Plan and related documents.
- Able to lead a team of H&S staff, guide, manage, and advise them on the projects H&S related issues & practice. This should include the implementation as well as compliance with legislative general rules & regulations related to H&S function.
- Able to monitor works sites on daily basis, identify and eliminate hazards and imminent danger site conditions, and immediately apply corrective action of any unsafe acts & conditions that noticed.
- Organize & lead regular safety staff meetings, ensure first-aid, fire-fighting and personal protective equipment and handy & available upon request
- Ensure all relevant training programs for all staff and workers are in place, as well as ensure inspection program for items such as scaffolding, ladder, power-tools, and stores are implemented, recorded and reported accordingly.
- Advise on potential hazards,
- Investigate accident / incidents and recommend preventive measures accordingly.
- Ensure full compliance with projects HSE regulations and liaise with any other third party involved as required.

Requirements

- Possess university bachelor degree / higher Diploma in mechanical / electrical engineering or degree in any related discipline
- Should have at least 4 to5 years work experience in related discipline gained by working on MEP projects.
- NEBOSH certificate or Acceptable IOSH/ OSHAS certification with 3 to 5 years of work experience MEP projects, work experience on high-rising projects is a certain plus.
- Computer literate
- Possess remarkable communication, people and managerial skills
- Able to write reports in professional manner
- Self-starter and motivated with good presentation skills.
- Having UAE driving license is a must.
