Health & Safety Officer - Aspire LOGISTICS

• To assist to develop and deliver sound Health & Safety services throughout Aspire Zone operations, in an effort to mitigate the Health & Safety risks for employees, customers, suppliers, visitors and others who may be affected by Aspire Zone activities and to encourage the development and maintenance of a positive attitude towards health and safety throughout Aspire Zone premises.
• Assist to maintain all corporate Health & Safety policy and procedural documents, to ensure organisational compliance with internationally recognized standards of “best practice” and relevant state legislation, updating such documents on an “as and when required” basis.
• Undertake Health & Safety risk assessments of all areas within Aspire Zone, taking remedial and follow up actions as appropriate to adequately address all observed risks.
• Assist with monitoring maintenance and “construction” activities throughout Aspire Zone to ensure compliance with Aspire Zone H&S procedures, including the “Permit to Work” system and to document & report any safety incidents or breaches of H&S rules.
• Assist with the delivery of staff and contractor Health & Safety Induction programmes
• Liaise with relevant internal & external agencies responsible for maintenance of all emergency systems (i.e.: Fire, First Aid), to ensure organisational compliance with internationally recognized standards of “best practice” and relevant state legislation.
• Provide guidance and direct input to the development plans and performance management of direct reports to meet the AZF objectives.
• Assume any other responsibilities as directed by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Safety or related.
• NEBOSH Certificate in Safety.
• 4 years of related experience of which a minimum of 2 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry.
• Ability to conduct formal Safety risk assessments, producing comprehensive reports.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of COSHH.
• Ability to effectively monitor SWP, identifying potential risks and take remedial action as appropriate.
• Fluency (oral & written) in Arabic & English language
• Computer literate (MS Office suite)

• Building, operating and managing high quality international standard sport facilities • Providing support for staging of sport events and activities • Providing shared services support for the precinct’s business partners – ASPIRE Academy and ASPETAR

Aspire LOGISTICS is comprised of three Directorates: Venues, Operations and Technical and Corporate Services.
