Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

BAC’s Health & Safety is currently on the lookout for a consummate candidate to document and submit recommendations of controls and corrective actions to minimize accidents, loss of life and damage to property. The successful candidate will perform effective inspections of all airport areas, aprons, terminal buildings, facilities and contractors, including all aircraft servicing equipment.

THE MAIN DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Inspecting equipment and operations of BAC and third parties, to monitor safety and health procedures and stop any work violating these procedures and / or endangering life and property.

• Responding to accident, incidents and other airport emergencies and conducting investigations and recommending corrective actions.

• Liaising with third parties (i.e. contractors) to ensure compliance with CAA and BAC safety regulations and standards; preparation of work permits and carrying out pre- and post- inspections of contractor’s workplace.

• Conducting field survey and audit on assets and operations for BAC to collect information on existing arrangements and future requirements; analyze/ evaluate this information and give recommendation for corrective actions to minimize the risk level for company and staff

• Guiding BAC department and third parties (i.e. contractors) in risk management aspects and how to reduce health and safety risk exposures by identifying training needs of staff, advising training department of these parties, and carrying out safety trainings.

• Developing a workplace safety procedure.

• Assisting the Head of Occupational Health & Safety to formulate a health and safety risk profile and develop a project HSE plan in order to classify the nature and dimensions of risk which is inherent in airport assets and operations.

• Analyzing if work processes within BAC departments contain risks that may be transferred to others, e.g. consultants, contractors, manufactures, suppliers or their agents; assist them to define their tasks and responsibilities and ensure that appropriate measures are taken by them to manage those risks effectively.

Requirements

WE ARE SEEKING CANDIDATES WHO MEET OR EXCEED, THE MINIMUM CRITERIA LISTED BELOW:

• Certificate in Safety Management (i.e. NEBOSH, ROSPA, etc.)
• Previous safety work experience
