The Role


The Health and Safety Site Lead provides direct support to business operations and has responsibility for the development and implementation of loss prevention and site safety programmes. The post holder maintains a strong working knowledge of safety regulations and BP policies within their operations. Provides guidance on low/medium risk operational issues and implementation of measures to minimise risks. The position also provides coaching and assists in the delivery of the Safety Management System

In January 2010, a set of agreements were ratified between BP Exploration Operating Company Ltd, Jordan, The National Petroleum Company (NPC) and the Government of Jordan, to farm-in to NPC’s Risha gas concession. Jordan fits neatly into BP’s strategy of accessing material tight gas opportunities where we can exploit our North American tight gas expertise and technology. BP intends to undertake a 3-4 year evaluation program of seismic and drilling activity to establish the resource potential of the Risha field, followed by a decision to enter into the Development and Production period of the agreement.

Qualifications:
- A professional Degree in Engineering or Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma
- Strong HSSE safety background
- Up-to-date knowledge of safety legislation.
- Minimum of 5-8+ Years experience in a safety management role with decision making responsibilities
- Experience of carrying out external and internal auditing.
- Ability to influence, persuade and motivate workforce.
- High level of interpersonal skills
