The Role


The Role


Our client, a leading Leisure and Entertainment company, with their Head Office located in Dubai are seeking a Health and Safety Manager.

Responsibilities:

To proactively manage the implementation, training and audit of sound and workable Fire, Evacuation and Health and Safety procedures as well risk manage all assets across the portfolio of the leisure and entertainment division. To effectively manage, update and communicate current and new policies to all business unit leaders and teams to ensure that we remain compliant to local and international laws, insurer requirements, industry best practice and most importantly the safety and security of our customers and employees.

1. Carry out a Safety Audit and Fire Evacuation as well as initiate the implementation of risks assessments within all Leisure and Entertainment Operations and deliver a status report and recommendations for improvement.
2. Implement and manage a Disaster Management and Emergency Plan within Leisure and Entertainment Operations using the existing framework, develop relevant training programs and integrate with other departments.
3. Ensure division wide awareness of the health and safety policy. .
4. Establish methods to ensure Safe plant and machinery, and safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances, including consistent and regular mechanical and electrical checks on our rides and attractions.
5. Ensure that each operational unit has adequate provision of first-aid and welfare facilities where appropriate.
6. Provide suitable and current information concerning health and safety policies and practices to the business leaders.
7. Prepare and carry out regular training programs for staff and tenants on Fire and Evacuation and general Health and Safety
8. Review tenants drawings to ensure compliance with facilities and statutory regulations for Fire Safety.
9. Provide advice and assistance to the leisure and entertainment management teams on the management of Health and Safety
10. Carry out proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments.
11. Review and update emergency procedures, evacuation plans, safety signs and incident reporting.
12. Liaise as necessary with other departments, organizations and relevant authorities and provide assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
13. Ensure each workplace satisfies the local and international standards for health, safety and welfare requirements for ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitary, washing and rest facilities.
14. Review prevention and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, radiation and manual handling risks.
15. Surveillance and reporting on health and safety practices, systems and accident reporting.
16. Provide all necessary assistance to the insurer and senior management for incident and accident investigations.
17. Establish the groundwork for the implementation of a workable environmental policy.

Requirements


Requirements


Candidates must have at least three years in a similar role and be located in the UAE or willing to relocate. They must be hold a recognised Health and Safety Qualification and be up to date with current best practice.
