Job description / Role
You have experience working on the Mechanical Maintenance of Tunnel Boring Machines, including the Herrenknecht brand, and are interested in exploring the opportunity to work in one of the most exciting, rapidly developing countries in the world.
We have an opportunity available with a leading international contracting company on a prestigious civil engineering project in Doha, Qatar.
You will be employed on a permanent, full time basis as a Mechanical Workshop Manager based on the surface of a major tunneling project. Working with a Herrenknecht Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), you will be in charge of resolving all mechanical issues on the surface, as well as underground mechanical issues when required. Other responsibilities will include maintenance follow-up, OHC maintenance and cooling.
You will report to the Project Director and the Head of Tunnels and hold full autonomy of staff management, staffing and technical decisions.
Requirements
You have Mechanical Technician training and at least 10 years of working experience, 5 years working in a TBM supervisory role, preferably with a mechanical focus. You have had substantial exposure to Herrenknecht TBMs and have worked on pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical elements of the machinery.
Due to the extreme temperatures in the Gulf, especially over the coming months, you will have experienced working outdoors in hot and humid conditions and will be comfortable managing a multicultural workforce.
