The RoleThe RoleTo deliver high quality civil engineering projects on time and within budget. Responsible for developing own Civil Engineering skills and assisting with the development of Graduate Engineers / Technicians. Responsibilities: •Follow instructions and directions of senior civil staff to develop own skills in Civil Engineering. •Coordinate with architects and building services engineers, and other civil engineers. •Remain informed with issues affecting other related disciplines. •Communicate design issues clearly in English. •Coordinate with, instruct and supervise draughtsmen. •Communicate design requirements and practical construction details clearly in sketch form. Be able to plan and check drawing production. •Understand and implement document control procedures for calculations and drawings. •Be responsible for the correctness and accuracy of own work. •Responsible for the checking of CAD works done under their supervision. |
RequirementsRequirementsTechnical Competencies Essential •Suitable qualification with 10 years’ experience in highway / drainage / infrastructure design. •Experience with highway design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Land Desk, MX Road etc. •Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook. •Desire to develop skills in the design of civil engineering works. •Good understanding of topographic survey and setting out works. •Commercially aware and have a flexible attitude to both the type of work undertaken and the level of responsibility accepted. Desirable •Arabic Speaker. •Highway design experience in the Middle East . Behavioural Competencies Essential •Ability to work as part of a team. •Able to use own initiative, and make decisions. •Be able to motivate self. •Good interpersonal skills. •Able to plan / prioritise workload and meet deadlines. |
