JOB PURPOSE -- OVERALL SUMMARY

To provide HR support to management in full alignment of business objectives by providing direct advice, guidance and support.

The job provides a catalyst for recommending change and most appropriate practice. The role is measured by the ability to provide efficient and effective first line support and advice to line managers (internal customers) and staff in an evolving and constantly changing business environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide HR support in all HR aspects to management and staff to improve employee relations and maximise effectiveness of people management within the organization.
*To participate in development and improvement of people related practices, processes and policies in order to maximise effective people management within the organization.
*Provide day to day operational HR support to nominated business units in respect to employee related support on an ongoing basis to allow the business to best utilise its employee's contributions to the business. Specifically, this will be in the areas of employment offers / assignments, pay & benefits, discipline, termination, record keeping, absence management, exit interviews, payroll interface. Provide guidance and support to HR Administrators.
*Assist in process of gathering compensation and benefit information in order to advise management of market rates for staff at recruitment, transfer, promotion and annual review to allow the company to compensate employees in line with management's compensation strategy in relation to market rates.
*Provide on-line, day to day HR support and guidance to all employees within allocated business units on policy interpretation and application, providing guidance and information on the use of relevant support service providers and sourcing additional cost effective HR support as required.
*Proactively seek and recommend improvements in HR practices, policies and processes.
*Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfill these.
*Fully participate in HR initiatives and projects as directed to improve the service of the function.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

*Degree level education
*Strong command of English Language
*Generalist HR experience in some or all of the following areas: recruitment, benefits, HR policies, terminations, compensation and other relevant areas of people management
*Minimum 3 years generalist HR experience in a *multi-national / multi-cultural environment
*Oil Industry background in a professional HR role
*Experience of dealing with western expats and western expat management
*Computer literate with a good working *knowledge of Microsoft, especially Word and Excel and PowerPoint
*Excellent organisational skills
*Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & listening)
*Interpersonal skills
*HR databases
*Flexible and able to support and interface with people at all levels.

The system is installed at Weatherford's offices in the Dubai Investments Park, Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE and is supporting their machine shop in Dubai for the expansion in the oil industry in that part of the world.
