Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To undertake the analysis and design, for the hydrology of a catchment area and hydraulic structures needed to store and channel water to identified locations

Key Responsibilities:
- Rainfall statistical analysis and ability to produce IDF curves from rainfall gauge stations
- Hydrological analysis and design of catchment areas and rivers
- Peak discharge calculations with hydrological modelling software, e.g. HEC-HMS
- Hydraulic structures design, including culverts, open channels, pipes, Irish crossings, bridges, etc.
- Hydraulic modelling software, e.g. HEC-RAS
- Capability in all stages of a project, including master plan, feasibility, detail design and tender documents
- GIS capabilities including the use of software, e.g. MapInfo, Vertical Mapper, ArcGIS
- Able to produce good quality calculations, reports and specifications
- Competent in the use of drafting software including AutoCAD and Civil 3-D (knowledge of corridor design is preferable)
- Experience in the preparation and analysis of Bills of Quantities
- Preferable experience of stability analysis of riverbanks based on geotechnical data

General Responsibilities
- Actively participate and contribute to the effective and successful delivery of Artelias projects
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with Managers and other staff
- Ensure the timeliness, quality, consistency and value of deliverables produced for Artelias Clients
- Contribute to developing, maintaining and implementing Artelias Management System standards and procedures for services to Artelias clients
- Proactively develop and implement Quality Assurance and Risk Management, including identification of potential problems prior to them arising and providing cost effective solutions
- Assist other project teams and other disciplines in project delivery
- Attend training to ensure continuous development
- Develop and mentor other staff identified by the Line Manager
- Any other responsibilities assigned to you by the Line Manager

Line Manager: Dams Team Leader

Requirements

- Engineering Degree or Appropriate degree from an accredited University.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience undertaking hydrology and hydraulic analysis and design in a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment.
- Preferable to have at least 2 years of experience in the GCC region.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong track record in working effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent analysis and design skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
- Strong Microsoft Office skills

Salary Range: 1,300 OMR
