The RoleThe RoleProfile: The Control and Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for leading a small team of Technicians and support staff ensuring that resources are available to maintain the plant, so that the required generation is met efficiently, economically and safely. In addition hands on practical maintenance experience of modern Combined Cycle Gas Turbines, associated plant and preferably Desalination plants is required. Reporting to the Control and Instrumentation Engineer, the post holder will be expected to be a self starter with the ability to maintain high levels of focused drive and energy who can work well with others towards the achievement of specific goals and objectives. Core Competencies Technical •Technical competence within C&I maintenance associated with CCGT plant and desalination processes •Practical knowledge of major instrument and control systems •Practical knowledge of modern gas turbine & desalination maintenance techniques •Organising spares, tools and equipment to carryout electrical engineering activities •Ability to perform fault diagnosis, work planning and management •Planning monitoring and controlling resources •Maintenance planning •Health and Safety and company safety rules •Computer literacy •Practical knowledge of DCS systems Personal •Using sound judgment and common sense •Ability to persuade and influence others •Empowerment of people •Organising work and people effectively •Ability to use energy and enthusiasm to generate results •Ability to achieve objectives to time and budget •Good understanding of integrating multicultural staff into one team •Ability to create climate of open communication •Good problem solving skills |
RequirementsRequirementsExperience: Previous employment will have provided a minimum of five years experience at a similar level and status within the discipline of C&I maintenance. Preferably should have practical knowledge and exposure of Modern Gas Turbine technology and preferably Desalination plant. Education: An engineering related education to diploma level is the minimum requirement and a supervisory or management related qualification is preferred. |
