Job description / Role
- Will work as Networking Technician / Engineer / Manager for the project.
- Responsible to oversee all networking activities including switches, Routers, IT Security, Firewall etc,. required for the project.
- Will coordinate with consultants, contractors and sub-contractors and involve in all networking activities for design / review / implementation across project.
- Will assure that the network design is in compliance with drawings, required specifications and standards.
- Supervise contractors / subcontractors to carry out site works according to design intent and the suppliers for timely delivery of equipment.
- Responsible for the site work implementation and documentation in order to achieve the project target completion date.
- Maintain and reference industry standards including ANSI, EIA/TIA, BICSI etc.
- Report to the Senior Manager of site progress and problems being encountered for assistance and guidance.
- Will keep records and related data of site progress in order to maintain regular / timely update to Senior Manager.
- Attend site meetings regularly and liaise with others for details of works and coordination of requirements amongst various parties.
- Involve in testing and commissioning of all networking activities and ensure compliance and handover.
Requirements
- Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering or relevant discipline / certification.
- At least 3-5 years relevant work experience in campus wide networking solutions.
- Should have a thorough knowledge and experience on campus wide networking and other advanced technologies.
- Demonstrate good knowledge on LAN / WAN / MAN topologies, IP Routing, wireless, cabling standards and components.
- Technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications and IT industry and/or installation.
- Worked in construction industry / environment.
- Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team environment.
- Able to work on AutoCAD drawings.
- Knowledge of QS & QC.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
- Be self-motivated and good communication skills including written and spoken.
