Employment: Full Time

Our client is one of the largest providers of alternative investment products. The company offers investments in corporate investment, real estate and hedge funds, and has arranged investments with a combined value of approximately $44 billion.

They are currently looking to recruit an IT Auditor in Bahrain.

Duties & Responsibilities
- The IT Auditor's role will include monitoring, assessing, and analyzing the companys IT risk and controls; and reviewing and confirming information and compliance with policies, procedures, and laws.
- Conduct Preliminary Survey of the IT audit engagements; understand and document the existing systems and processes.
- Prepare Audit programme of the IT Audit engagements.
- Perform Internal Audit testing procedures, applying sampling techniques and develop informed conclusions from the testing results.
- Identify any gaps and weaknesses in the design and implementation of the process.
- Ensure that the approved audit objectives are met and adequate coverage is achieved;
- Ensure that sufficient and appropriate audit evidence is gathered and that working papers / audit documentation is complete in all respects.
- Prepare risk based internal audit reports and conduct exit conference with the management before finalization;
- Ensure that the Departments Charter, as laid out by the Board Audit Committee, is being respected;
- Maintain a continuous and effective working relationship with Managers and other Associates and Head of Internal Audit (HoIA) to deal with current and pertinent issues relating to improvement of internal controls, governance and risk management processes within the Firm;
- Assist HoIA in coordinating with outside auditors or organizations that may certify the firm from time to time;
- Ensure that diverse audit engagements are performed in a systematic, disciplined approach, with proficiency and due professional care;
- Keep the HoIA informed of the progress and results of IT audits and risks associated with Firms activities and services;
- Assist HoIA in the development of an annual IT audit plan.
- Assist HoIA in performing the follow-ups for the agreed-upon actions in an effective and efficient manner to ensure that they are remediated by management
- Assist HoIA in issuing periodic (quarterly) reports to the Audit and Risk Committee and management summarizing results of audit activities;
- Assist HoIA in planning of individual audit assignments and to ensure that professional standards are maintained;
- Assist HoIA in reviewing IT related policies and procedures for improvement and to ensure that they provide for adequate and efficient internal controls to mitigate the associated risks;
- Candidate will keep himself/herself updated on the latest audit techniques and professional audit standards locally and internationally.
- Elicit information from knowledgeable internal / external sources about areas and functions to determine appropriate audit direction / methodology. Research all pertinent data (law, current issues, work papers, reports);
- Carry out any other tasks, verifications, examinations and investigations as assigned by the HoIA.

Requirements

- The IT Auditor will have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Business Management and Finance and with CIA and CISA certification and preferably an internationally recognized related professional qualification / certification (CA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA, CISA, CIA);
- You shall have extensive knowledge of financial services industry and at least 4-5 years experience in IT Internal Audit, or Big 4 professional accountancy firm experience with and experience in Financial sector;
- You will be an excellent communicator with the proven ability to communicate recommendations, issues and opinions in clear and balanced business terms, both orally and through high-impact presentations and written reports;
- You will also possess exceptional team working and partnership skills in a multi-cultural environment.
- You will be highly disciplined to ensure that assigned audits are delivered on time, with added value, to professional standards and with appropriate documentation;
- You will have the ability to partner effectively with managers and to influence the way they think about and manage risk while, at the same time, maintain independence.
- You will have the ability to add value through strong advisory skills and should have the ability to share best practice.
- You will also have the demonstrated ability to successfully adapt international best practices.
- You will have the ability to execute and report on a risk based program, applying audit tools, techniques and methodologies, leveraging automation whenever possible.
- You will have acceptable knowledge of emerging corporate governance standards and practices.
