Job description / Role
IT Deskside Support Engineer – Dubai
An opportunity has become available for this prestigious company based in Business Bay, Dubai. The key to an effective DeskSide Support Engineer role is ensuring that there is clear accountability that roles are defined so as to carry out the practice of Service for end users on Field Operation. This roll is a field engineer who will be scheduled or assigned to Location/locations to manage day to day end user IT Support related. Be the first point of escalation for IT infrastructure issues. Service window allocation will be assigned on shift hours or dictate standard business trimmings based on nature of business function requirements.
Requirements
• Preparing standard Desktop environment for newly acquired computers by either installing the software packages in-house or ensuring that the vendor pre-loads to required versions before shipping
• Assist the users in carrying out their normal day to day operations on the computers in a smooth fashion i.e. troubleshooting any software / hardware problems related to the user computers or shared equipment’s like printers, scanners, network adapters, fax machines etc.
• Assist new users in the usage of different normally used existing packages
• Ensuring smooth running of the Telephone Instruments by adding, modifying the extension settings, for end user
• Handle Incidents assigned and update resolutions as progressed
• Developing and assisting end user to access the incident management system to log incidents
• Set up and maintain Anti-Virus measures on the Network and all PCs connected on the Network 2nd level escalation process maintained
• Updating knowledge base on incidents
• Asset inventory validation and asset tagging
• Ensure that the entire Desktop environment is maintained in a standard agreed form
• Support and assist in Other Projects/Rollouts/Initiatives support like:
• Reallocation
• Renovation
• New Setup
• Closure / Decommissioning
• OS Migration rollout
• Client side patch deployment
• Manage other Network based communication systems like Fax, Internet Telephony etc
• Patch of non-MS-Products
• Proper reasoning against the call status
Key Experience and Education needed:
A preference will be given to female candidates
• Minimum 4 years IT experience with desktop user support
• Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
• Bachelor’s in computer science or related field
• MSC, MCSC & ITIL v3
