Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Manage the governance, planning and risk management functions and Ensures appropriate policies and controls are in place for effective service delivery . Manage all areas related to Release and Change Management.

- Duties and Responsibilities Planning and Governance

- Establish and develop appropriate policies, procedures and practices in relations to governance and planning functions

- Ensure and Monitor effective implementations of the policies and procedures

- Ensure necessary awareness for the IT policies and procedures

- Provide expert Advice and Support the IT Management to deliver services as required ad manage the overall IT Plans and budget from planning and governance point of view.

- Coordinate/Work effectively in the Internal Audit program with the Auditors.

- Ensure best practice risk mitigation and assessment functions are maintained to comply with companies strategy.

- Communicate the governance activities , policies and decisions with the IT Management and Business Leadership and keep them informed of IT governance decisions that will affect IT services and projects.

- Inform and align decision making for information technology planning, policy and operations in order to meet business objectives.

- Act as a liaison between IT department and the national /international organizations/entities.

- Duties and Responsibilities Change & Release Management.

- Support Manager Service Services in all areas related Release and Change Management.

Specifically:

- Release Management: In conjunction with application and infrastructure teams, track configuration items and maintain technical documentation control.

- Change Requests: Ensuring that change requests are correctly administered, documented, maintained and coordinated in a timely fashion.

- Change Management calendar: Establish and maintain a Change calendar, keeping Production informed of the forward schedule of work and managing the release of changes to the Production environment.

CAB: Help establish a Change Advisory Board and chair and present changes to the CAB

Asset database: Develop a CMDB and ensure that it is kept up to date by him/herself and also by Application and Infrastructure teams

Incident reporting: Maintain up to date and accurate records of incident and problem resolution activities

SLAs: Help define and maintain SLAs. Provide key metrics on SLA adherence across IT.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree level (minimum 2:1) from a leading academic institution
- Masters degree would be preferable
- ITIL V3 Foundation as a minimum; ITIL advanced practitioner qualifications would be desirable
- ISO 20000 certification

Minimum Experience:
- 8+ years experience in Governance & Release Management.
- Experience of writing and managing detailed implementation plans.
- Thorough understanding of the principles of Change and Release Management.
- Proven knowledge and skills in Service Management.
- Working within a well-defined service management environment based around ITIL practices.
- Experience of implementing and improving release and change management processes.
- Preference will be given for service desk experience from an Investment Banking IT or top-tier Asset Management IT background.

Job-Specific Skills:

- Essential Technical Skills / Knowledge

Experience of release and change management of the following:

- Investment systems: Charles River, Eagle, Bloomberg, Reuters Dealing, Cogendi, SWIFT messaging, FTP and data feeds.
- Corporate systems: Oracle HRMS, SharePoint, Business Objects, Learning Management System, JD Edwards, Microsoft BizTalk.
- Infrastructure services: Microsoft Exchange, Blackberry ES, server patching.
- MS Project / Excel / Visio / Powerpoint.
- End-to-end experience of the project life cycle.
- Good experience in planning methodologies and tools.
- Good knowledge in business analysis methodologies and tools.
- Good knowledge of all IT technical components.
- Demonstrable evidence of analysing, documenting and re-engineering complex business processes.
- Good knowledge in documenting business requirements.

Language Ability:
- Strong negotiator with excellent communication skills with end users and senior management.
- Business and Technical English Fluency.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
