Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A leading semi-governmental organization based in Abu Dhabi is looking to recruit an experienced IT Help-desk to join their dynamic team of professionals. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in user support. UAE Nationals are first priority for this role.

The IT help-desk is responsible for the optimal running of computer systems, networks and for providing end user IT support.

The responsibilities are as follows:
- Acts and behaves in a way that is compliant with company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environment, Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct.
- Oversees the daily performance of computers and networks.
- Answers user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operations to resolve problems.
- Enters commands and observes system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
- Sets up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
- Installs and performs minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
- Maintains records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
- Ensures all emails and information are backed up.
- Reads technical manuals, confers with users, or conducts computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
- Refers major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
- Develops training materials and procedures, or trains users in the proper use of hardware or software.
- Confers with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications

Requirements

- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in an IT related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in user support
- Software project management, development, and testing skills
- Knowledge of Networking (LAN/WAN)
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft applications (i.e. MS Office)
- Strong knowledge of installation and configuration of Anti-Virus programs
- High level troubleshooting skills for hardware and software components
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
