IT Manager

Job description / Role

Our company is looking for an IT Manager, based in Djibouti, to support an International courier company. The Information Technology Manager will be responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing
•Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development
•Meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
•Control the computer systems budgets and expenditures
•Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system
•Provide orientation and train staff about potential uses of existing technology
•Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
•Troubleshoot and respond to all technology issues in a timely manner
•Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
•Provide network access to staff
•Install work stations
•Connect and set up hardware and load required software
•Provide network accounts and passwords as required
•Monitor security of all technology
•Input and maintain IP addresses
•Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

•Logistics business experience in an IT role is essential
•Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
•Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role
•Must have working knowledge of ERP
•Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems and programs
•Knowledge of computer networks, network administration and network installation
•Knowledge of computer viruses and security
•Knowledge of E-mail and internet programs
•Africa work experience is an advantage
•French language skills (oral and written) a definite advantage
•Preference will be given to candidates who are available immediately
