IT Project Manager

Job description / Role

Following the recent expansion of our activity in the UAE, we are currently recruiting an IT Project Manager to be based in our Dubai office.

Your main responsibilities will be:

- Support execution of the department’s strategic operation plan.
- Understand and convey local business requirements/issues.
- Sponsor & execute global and regional strategies or initiatives locally.
- Communicate and enforce Global/Regional/Local IT policies and procedures within IT and the user community.
- Promote and Implement Regional IT initiatives, projects and solutions for local needs where applicable.
- Perform managerial activities such as hiring, succession planning and people development activities.
- Manage relationship with 3rd party vendors. Support service owners of regional contracts. Measure local customer satisfaction with service delivery of IT.
- Ensure all non-operational tasks are aligned as projects following the Project Management methodology.
- Manage local projects as appropriate.
- Manage and execute by influence in a diplomatic way in a matrix organization.
- Proactively manage IT Services and support Business Continuity.
- Coordinate IT Infrastructure and Security activities with other local campus companies
- Ensure IT Audit standards are maintained.
- Ensure compliancy is in place, periodical tests are carried out and resulted actions or remediation are followed up.
- Be advocate in innovation ideas & new technologies
- Ensure IT Infrastructure group keeps a current disaster recovery plan and executes the annual tests.
- Ensure that a proper Software Licenses Management process is in place and software usage is monitored regularly.

Requirements

In order to be considered for this role you will need the following experience and education:

- A degree in Computer Sciences, MIS, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, completed with at least 5 years of successful technical experience in a variety of IT disciplines.
- Within those years, a significant exposure to a broad range of business planning, systems analysis, and application development using new and emerging technologies.
- Proven experience in contributing to efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
- You must have a strong experience in Project Management to be successful in this role.
- Worked with multi-cultural as well as multi-platform environments and have experience of their operational / security and social considerations
- Established a successful track record of managing joint IT/Business teams through the various life-cycle phases (cross functional experience strongly desired)
- A good understanding of standard financial principles and budgeting
