Summary of Position Responsibilities:
* Manage the team responsible for the implementation of IT projects
* Resource planning, the quality of all deliverables, the adherence to the approved methodology, and all reporting requirements
* Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget and contain the required functionality
* Manage the team's performance objectives
Principal Accountabilities of Position:
* Responsible for management oversight of a unit of Project Management resources
* Responsible for stakeholder management, inclusive of stakeholders external to the department/organization
* Provide a single point of contact for the unit on all projects
* Resolve issues through direct action or escalation when necessary
* Manage and provide status on unit's administrative tasks and budgets
* Communicate with management and staff to achieve the goals of the unit
* Facilitate team meetings and keeping of meeting minutes
* Oversee the creation and maintenance of all project documentation (including, but not limited to project plans) according to established procedures
* Prominent role in achieving departmental objectives and participation in team meetings alignment with project objectives
* Manage and track the overall project portfolio and pipeline of new project requests
* Leads initial project analysis and scope determination for all new project requests
* Improve team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training and motivating in order to facilitate cooperation, ensure efficiency and boost morale.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree required (Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field
* Responsible for team metrics (resource allocation, training, etc.)
* Communicates with Project Management counterparts, customers and project stakeholders
* 8-10 years of work or project experience
* 5-7+ years in the role of managing projects combined with technical experience directly related to the position
* Minimum 3-5 years of management, supervisory or team leader experience
* Possesses strong leadership and negotiation skills
* Extensive knowledge of project management concepts and practices such as Scope, Communication, Financial and Risk Management practices, as well as Project Lifecycle methodologies
* Broad technical knowledge of networking, Internet, distributed and mainframe computing
* Knowledgeable in office automation tools (MS Office suite of applications, email, internet, etc.)
* Understanding of team leadership, business practices and their application to effective project management.
* PMP certified and continues to maintain certification.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
