IT Security Officer

Our client is a leading money transfer and foreign exchange company based in the GCC. They have been in continues operation since the 1920s. They are looking to recruit an IT Security Officer.

MAIN DUTIES:
- Contribute in the design of network infrastructure using best practices for security in relation to networking and firewalls.
- Monitor firewalls logs and configuration changes in a timely manner.
- Monitoring of data centre servers network components and external connectivity.
- Participate in the designing the LAN and WAN infrastructure utilizing the industry's best practice and systems integration of several platforms.
- Gauge network health on a regular basis, and manage the internet and third party connections.
- Monitors security systems, and analyzes potential threats and vulnerabilities to client systems.
- Provides security analysis and consultation services for product, system and network architecture designs.
- Analyzes network traffic and alerts to assess, prioritize and differentiate between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms.
- Prepares remedial options and supervises correction of information security shortfalls.
- Issues user IDs and passwords to new users and monitors system access and use to identify any security violations.
- Composes and sends alert notifications.
- Identifies trends and root causes of system failures or vulnerabilities.
- Works to establish vendor and trusted partner relationships.
- Participate in publishing reports and keeps metrics for client systems.
- Ensures that the Information Systems Security Departments policies, procedures, and practices as well as other systems user groups are in compliance.
- Audit and report the process of Issuing user IDs and passwords to new users and monitors system access and use to identify any security violations.
- Assist in performing off-site audits to check on Disaster Recovery program effectiveness.
- Assist in conducts structured walk-throughs to ensure integrity of system applications.
- Any other tasks as directed by the Head and CIO.

Requirements

- Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Must have strong technical knowledge
- Must be ITIL, ISO20000 or ISO27001 certified
- Strong knowledge of external IT developments and emerging, security related, best practice;
- Strong awareness of current developments in IT field;
- Preferably be a Certified Information Systems Security Professional;
- Preferably a certified in CEH V7 (Certified Ethical Hacker)
- Strong working knowledge of networking technologies and current Microsoft operating systems;
- Strong working knowledge of IT security auditing and international security standards, in particular with ISO27001;
- Strong working knowledge of ITIL V3 is highly desirable; and
- The relevant national and international legislation pertaining to the regulators and Central Banks.
- Strong knowledge of network technologies, including TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs and proxies;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technology stacks and VMware;
- Strong knowledge of anti-virus products;
- Strong knowledge of the PCI DSS standard and related technical controls including
- SEIM, HIPS, and encryption;
- Excellent knowledge of ISO27001;
- Vulnerability Management;
- Minimum 1 year work experience.
- Strong technical skills in Telecoms, Networks, Security, Applications and Database
- A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Preferably candidates who reside in Bahrain
- Security incident management.
- Previous change management experience is a must.
