The Role


The Role

Basic Function and Responsibilities:

Proactively manages and takes responsibility for the day-to-day IT functions of the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Communicates with users on a daily basis in order to provide application support.

2. Assists users with the training and use of applications deployed in the business.

3. Assists users with reporting needs.

4. Investigates of new applications / technologies that will benefit the company.

5. Liaises with our managed IT services provider.

6. Provides hardware, software and network operating system support.

7. Manages selection, procurement, and maintenance contracts of software programs and hardware.

8. Maintains and tests disaster recovery plans.

9. Consults with management to analyze business needs for management information system and infrastructure, to determine scope and priorities of projects, and to discuss system capacity and acquisitions.

10.Identifies & implements of hardware & software opportunities to enhance productivity and efficiency.

11. Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.

12. Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications.

13. Maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups.

14. Responsible for the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resource.

15. Creates and maintains technical documentation.

16. Responsible for software lookup, software installation, maintenance, and upgrading.

17. Responsible for Web site/FTP Resource Site/Mailing List/Email Server/etc… Software updates and links.

18. Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoots all technology issues.

2. Maintains log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance.

3. Makes recommendations about purchase of technology resources.

4. Researches current and potential resources and services.

5. Installs work stations.

6. Connects and set up hardware.

7. Loads all required software.

8. Provides network accounts and passwords as required.

9. Monitors security of all technology.

10. Installs and maintains Foolproof and passwords.

11. Inputs and maintains IP addresses.

12. Advises staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status.

13. Ensures installation of lock out programs.

14. Identifies and prepares hardware for disposal when appropriate.

15. Ensures hardware is stripped and secured before disposal.

Additional Responsibilities:

1.Interacts with internal auditors in completing audits.

2.Interacts with the marketing department related to Email shots & News-letters.

Requirements


Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science OR Computer Engineering.

2 - 4 years of experience.

Fluent in English.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Previous experience in a similar role
