IT Systems Administrator

Job description / Role

Our client is a highly prestigious government entity based in Dubai with a reputation that is highly respected regionally. They currently seek an IT Systems Administrator to Maintain, monitor, upgrade and resolve issues relating to all aspects of the IT enterprise including systems and corporate network.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work within a team to support, troubleshoot and monitor the Network and Windows Server Infrastructure to ensure the stability, security and availability of systems.
- Maintain the integrity of company data by ensuring systems are monitored effectively, securely and according to established compliance guidelines.
- Software patch management and applying database scripts
- Administration of Active Directory, users account administration
- MS Exchange (2013) administration.
- Juniper Networks Technology experience (SSL VPN, Firewall, Routers, and Infranet Controller (IC)).
- Cisco devices experience (Switches, Firewalls).
- Network security such as Unified Access Control solutions (UAC/IC) / Juno Pulse
- Firewall maintenance, port policies and rules.
- Installation using WSUS and other tools.
- Install, configure, maintain, support, and secure the local area network, including hardware resources and software applications.
- Deal with all aspects of Microsoft Premier Support and Enterprise Agreement.

Requirements

The candidate should be able to demonstrate some experience in most of the following;
- Proven track record of minimum 4 years of Enterprise IT Exposure in First and Second Level IT Support.
- Demonstrate a high degree of competency in all aspects of system and network administration in a small to medium sized enterprise that preferably complies with international IT standards of best practise such as ISO 27001.
- A proven track record of delivering the highest standards of IT support within a formalised IT department, and knowledge of IT processes, methodologies and other professional related certifications.
- Hands on Active Directory Administration knowledge (Group Policies, AD objects such as user, distribution lists, mailboxes etc.)
- Hands on experience in Microsoft WSUS.
- Hands on experience with HP Server, Blade System, HP SAN Storage Systems, Microsoft Exchange 2013, SQL, System Centre.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate some experience in most of the following;
- The candidate will also be required to quickly gain knowledge on internal customised applications, ensuring that future system support needs are met.
- Networking Cisco Switching, Routing, DNS, DHCP, Server Clustering.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 & 2012 R2 operating systems.
- SQL Server 2014.
- Exchange 2013.
- Active Directory 2012 administration and Domain Controllers.
- Good understanding of Virtualisation technologies.
- Juniper Networks security devices ie SSL VPN, firewalls.
- Cisco switches / firewalls.
- Blackberry Enterprise Server.
- Proxy servers / Gateways.
- Mobile Device Management (MDM).
- RSA Authentication.
- MS Office 2013 Advanced level.
- Antispam / Antivirus systems.
- Working knowledge of Office 2010, 2013, Visio & MS Project.

Qualifications:
IT related graduate (degree / diploma) / Microsoft / other professional certification(s) such as Microsoft, HP, Cisco and others.
