IT Systems Administrator

Job description / Role

- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.
- Review system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Verify daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
- Operating systems administration including MS Windows, Solaris, and Linux administration and clustering.
- SAN storage and SAN switches administration
- Vmware administration including adding and managing virtual machines.
- LAN switch monitoring and administration
- Monitoring of Data Center power and cooling equipment and coordinating with supplier as needed.

Requirements

- BSc. degree in a technical field related to Information Technology and Telecommunications.
- 5 years plus of systems administration including MS Windows, UNIX (Solaris) and Linux.
- Experience with SAN and SAN switch administration including creating and mounting partitions, zoning, and disk groups.
- Experience with Vmware administration including creating and configuring virtual machines, cloning and troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge with Data Center power and cooling equipment
- PC literate with PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Fluent English - Arabic preferred
