Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This position reports to the IT Manager for PCC and provides desktop support through direct interface with the end user community. Maintains an expert knowledge of PC operating systems, productivity software, and troubleshooting techniques. Assists Systems Analyst in the support of all infrastructure hardware and software.
Support Infrastructure Systems and Desktops
• Work closely with end user community to resolve PC hardware and software problems.
• Strive to educate the end user community and assist them in becoming self-sufficient.
• Maintain the Help Desk environment for the Plant and Office environments.
• Take directions from the IT Manager and Systems Analysts to assist them in keeping all IT systems up and running.
• Update and manage hardware, software and printer consumables inventory.
• Check server event logs on a daily basis and report findings to the Systems Analysts.
• Work with vendors for PC/printer maintenance and hardware replacement.
• Follow the SLA to close helpdesk tickets on time.
• Maintain backup images of PCs and laptops.
• Willing to rotate between multiple physical sites to provide services as needed.
• Be part of the routine IT on-call service.
• Prepare to work extra hours during server patch management process or special assignments/projects.
• Willing to work in tight schedules and multi-tasking environments when required.
• Undertake cross training until fully capable of executing all infrastructure tasks including those of the Systems Analyst.
Provide reliable and available infrastructure services.
• Administer and maintain IT infrastructure systems
- Assist with administering and managing virtual servers using VMWare or HyperV technology.
- Support servers using Dell Open Manage and HP Insight Management tools.
- Assist with performing installation & troubleshooting of LANs, switches, and routers.
- Perform server deployments, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and support DHCP and DNS servers.
- Monitor network status using Cisco Works, Solarwinds, GFI LAN Guard, or equivalent.
- Document/update relevant operating procedures in support of infrastructure operations.
• Deploy and support wireless access points.
- Conduct company and personal business in a manner that reflects positively on the company’s public image and on personal ethics. Must comply with all company procedures and US international business ethics laws and regulations.

Requirements

A minimum of an associates degree in computer support, electronics, or network management. A BS in Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems is highly desirable.
Experience: At least 3 years experience working as a systems technician in a 7x24 manufacturing environment based on Intel hardware and Microsoft software.
Skills includes Troubleshooting, and supporting:
- Ethernet networks and the TCP/IP protocol suite
- Windows server operating system (2000, 2003, and 2008) both 32 bit and 64 bit
- Windows desktop operating system (XP and Windows 7)
- MS Office 2003 and 2010.
- SharePoint.
- Network printing and scanning.
• Must be able to work with diverse groups and ethnic backgrounds.
• Proficient in modifying procedures and documenting work processes.
• Capable of dealing with a multinational work force.
• Able to tolerate frequent interruptions, agitated customers, and tight deadlines.

Other: The assignment will be in support of operations in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The work site in Jubail will vary and will include outside field work in an industrial environment. Prior chemical plant experience is highly desirable.

Industry certifications preferred. Such certifications would include MCSE, MCP, CCNA, A+, etc.

About the Company

Petrochemical Conversion Company Ltd. (PCC) is a joint venture between Saudi Industrial Investment Group and Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical Company Ltd. PCC is developing a state-of-the-art Greenfield Industrial Park to include the following manufacturing plants: Nylon 6,6 Plant, Nylon Compounding Plant, HDPE Pipe Plant, Drip Irrigation Plant, Automotive Parts Plant, Medical Specialties and Pharmacological Supplies Plant, Electrical Parts Plant, and Complex Caps and Closures Plant. The Industrial Park will be one of the first facilities constructed in the Jubail II industrial area of Saudi Arabia.
