I.T. Technician

Job description / Role

- Data, telephone and AV cable pulling, termination and trunk.
- Telephone panel crimping and line testing.
- Network cabinet, switch, patch panel, modem and access points installation and configuration
- Low voltage ICT electrical device cabling and setup
- CCTV system installation, maintenance and regular supervision
- PC hardware troubleshooting
- Perform routine hardware testing, configuration and installation.
- Satellite mega switch, signal amplifiers connection (barrel connectors) termination
- Set top box installation, programming
- Identity user training needs develop and deliver desktop- related training.
- Perform routine maintenance related to all hardware across the group.
- Resolve basic PC, server, network hardware problems
- Provide basic user support to the I.P. telephone system (training will be provided)
- Perform routine network and PC installations, troubleshoot, maintain and resolve any related problems
- Provide support for peripheral devices such as printers, projectors, interactive white boards, access control devices etc.

Requirements

- College Certificate or Computer, IT or equivalent is required, a Diploma would be preferred.
- A+ Certification or equivalent is required.
- Minimum two years experience in similar role is required. More than two years would be preferred.
- Experience of working in an educational environment (e.g. school, college or university) would be preferred.
- Drivers license preferred.
- Strong customer service and problem solving skills, including the ability to provide diligent, prompt and courteous responses to users and questions and technical issues.
- Knowledge of MS Windows operating system.
- PC hardware configuration including peripherals.
- Thorough knowledge of internet line configuration modems, access points, patch panels and switches
- Knowledge of mobile devices, such as iPads, iPhones, Android and Blackberry.
- Knowledge of satellite dish systems would be an advantage.
