ITS Engineer

Job description / Role

- Liaison with engineers and technicians from within the organization and with external consultants and contractors
- Carrying out the review and design of ITS systems and infrastructure for road projects in accordance with Qatar standards, specifications and procedures
- Carrying out inspections and review of existing ITS infrastructure
- Providing ITS advice and guidance into various road infrastructure projects
- Carrying out studies for the implementation and operation of ITS
- Providing support in the preparation of route reports, location reports and area reports as required by the organization
- Liaise with utilities providers and other stake holders.
- Liaison with other interdisciplinary technical specialists in addressing ITS issues on infrastructure projects.
- Perform other related duties based on the requirements of the organization

Requirements

- BSc / BEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute. CEng or equivalent preferred.
- 10 years of demonstrable experience in design, operation and maintenance of ITS infrastructure, with satisfactory exposure to all related disciplines.
- Experience in Highway design, traffic engineering and allied fields.
- Experience with electrical / electronics / tele-communications systems as related to ITS.
- An internationally recognized accredited University degree accepted by CEng, PE or PEng membership organization as a qualifying/exempting academic university degree qualification; and
- Chartered/Professional engineer status. Proof of current membership or registration in one of the following national professional engineering organizations is acceptable to the Authority as meeting the requirements of chartered/professional engineer status:
