Immediate Start Customs Clearance Manager

Job description / Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen to work for a global logistics company as their Customs Clearance Manager

Reporting to the GM the role is as follows:
- Management of the teams
- Liaison with government entities
- Training the team on customs issues
- Ensures that all parts have accurate product descriptions, appropriate tariff classifications, and meet regulatory requirements for new and existing products.
- Responsible for forwarder/ carrier/ agent payments on collect shipments.
- Liaise with UAE Customs on shipment arrivals where information is needed or manipulation is requested.
- Obtain Exit Inspection stamp from Customs and on Gate Pass at the time of dispatching shipments to vendors.
- Maintain Gate Pass file both for used and new exit/Entry Forms into the Free Zone.
- Work closely with manager to ensure department is operating within the guidelines of the company's goals and objectives.
- Make sure the team is adhering to guidelines in this area.
- Set team objectives.
- Assist department peers with obtaining Customs/Binding Rulings from Customs authorities for new and existing products by providing samples and/or product information from various resources.

Requirements

- 10 years experience within a customs management background.
- Excellent knowledge of customs clearance government rulings.
- A solid man manager.
- Excellent relationships with government entities.
- Solid English and Arabic skills.
- Experience in compliance management.
- Understanding and managed the import and export process.
