The Role


The Role


Reporting directly to the Project Director for Research, the Implementation Consultant will play a role as the subject matter expert in the implementation of the Grant Management suite with Sidra’s Lawson ERP system, with Enterprise Content Management System for research administrative workflows and document management, and the continuing development of complimentary systems and subsequent training activities.

The post holder will also assist in establishing relevant policies, procedure and workflow.

• Responsible for the implementation of electronic research administration systems, which include primarily Grants management module and Enterprise Content Management System:
o Requirements development and/or finalization
o Design, including business processes development and review
o Integration planning
o User testing
o Training

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Finance and other Systems, vendors, project managers, external Stakeholders such as the government funding agency and potential collaborating institutes.

• Participating in development of all necessary research administrative processes in order for system build and provide input to organizational structure and staffing as appropriate.

• Advise and input to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system build has a solid foundation on appropriate management of research.

• Participate in develop training programs to educate administrators and investigators about research admin systems and involve in training of super users.

• To Contribute to develop within procedure and with the assistance of Finance, robust financial controls procedures to monitor RD financial transactions.

• Nurture a collaborative relationship with all other areas of the Sidra organization to achieve the organization’s mission and goals.

• Other duties as requested by Project Director from time to time.

Requirements


Requirements


Educated to degree level and 5 yr+ experience, within an academic research, healthcare, or similar administration environment.

Experience in setting up new organization or department.
Working knowledge of the scientific grant system and the major funding bodies, and of current issues affecting the research funding sector.

Experience in policy development and implementation.

Experience with implementing electronic research administration systems
Sound understanding of financial management of research grants.

Competencies / Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels and from diverse cultures within the Sidra and with external organizations.

Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to identify important problems, analyze, propose and implement solutions.

Skill at creating collaborative and positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
