Employment: Full Time

ACE Translation Services is PwC’s in-house translation centre based in Amman, Jordan. The team of translators serves engagement teams of PwC in the Middle East Region.
The main language pair is English – Arabic. The centre utilises SDL Trados to assist in the translation of financial statements, proposals, reports, letters and various other types of documents needed in a professional service firm.
The team is growing its expertise in Amman and is looking for translators with various degrees of experience, from graduate students to well-rounded professionals with subject matter expertise. We offer full time employment in a modern office environment.

Requirements

• Understand ACE translation services quality standards and make sure they are upheld to meet the client’s expectations
• Properly utilise all appropriate supplemental materials (attachments to work request, reference material, glossaries, etc.) making sure they are consistent throughout the jobs
• Provide feedback to Project Manager re: project-specific non-conformances, resolutions and quality of the file reviewed
• Keep Project Manager informed of project progress
• Be responsible for any errors/omissions associated to a project in which s/he is involved
• Translate and proofread various types of documents (based on subject matter expertise)
• Ensure translated documents mirror the original source document
• Efficiently maintain formal disciplined operations procedures across a variety of client projects
• Liaise with internal clients to discuss any unclear points
• Personally perform project QA steps
• Edit jobs by other translators in the team
• Maintain databases and amend translation memories
• Juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with other translators in the team and regional requesters of our services
• Should be comfortable working and communicating with team members at all levels including senior management.
• Demonstrate effective utilization

Essential skills and experience required:
• Minimum Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
• Must have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in English
• Native level of Arabic with ability to localisation in Middle East region
• Prior translation / proofreading experience
• Expertise in financial/accountancy/tax/consulting and related fields
• Acute attention to detail, spelling and grammar
• Ability to support multiple projects
• Preference to have a working knowledge of computer aided software such as SDL Trados (desktop, groupshare or world server)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (in particular Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations, especially under tight deadlines
