Information Security Consulting Manager - Cybersecurity

Job description / Role

My client, a leading international consulting firm is seeking a consulting manager with strong expertise in the areas of Information Security, Compliance and Cyber Defense. This opportunity is located in Dubai, UAE. We are looking to hire an experienced professional who can excel as a subject matter expert as well as lead a team of information security experts. The role is Dubai based but will require travel throughout the GCC. Fluency in English is an absolute must with strong communication and client engagement skills vital. The ideal candidate will:
Perform and lead activities in his / her area of accountability, including
oversight of work performed by other individuals within the team
Provide strong technical expertise in all facets of a comprehensive information security program
Advance the information security program in a compliant manner and work
Closely with key stakeholders to determine appropriate information security controls and risk mitigation
Identify, both proactively and reactively, threats and vulnerabilities within area of responsibility and recommend and drive appropriate actions
Actively participate in a cross-functional team in as part of on-going information security incident response program
Establish and extend relationships with internal stakeholders as well as with
external peers, partners and critical law enforcement agencies / academia
Deliver on all identified information security related strategic goals and objectives

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience
The selected candidate will be required to possess the following:
Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline with 8+ years of experience in Information Technology; OR a
Masters degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline
with 6+ years of experience as noted previously; OR a PhD in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline with 1+ years of experience as noted
previously.
Experience leading a team of information security or information technology
professionals
Experience working directly with non-IT professionals on Information Security topics
Experience working with internal and external auditors in the area of Information Security
Experience identifying and implementing information security controls
Experience working in a large, complex global environment
Strong demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following information security program areas:
- Identity and Access Management
- Threat Intelligence, Management
- Data Loss Prevention1
- Incident Response / SIEM
Additional demonstrated knowledge in the following information security program areas:
- Information Security Compliance and Risk Management
- Vulnerability Management and Protection
- Security Operations(network security)
- Information Security Training and Awareness
Strong leadership attributes;
ability to effectively facilitate and influence direction is a priority
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to
Articulate concepts and ideas related to information security
Experience working effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a high degree of initiative and excellent follow-up skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in both cross-functional and global teams Preferred experience or skills for the candidate include:
Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline with 10+ years of experience in Information Technology; OR a Masters degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline
with 8+ years of experience as noted previously; OR a PhD in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline with 2+ years of experience as noted
previously.
Information Security related certification, e.g. CISSP
Information security or technical auditing
Sarbanes-Oxley relevant control execution
Compliance with external regulations or requirements such as PCI, HIPAA, ISO, etc.
Additional IT experience such as application development, networking, consulting, etc.
Interacting in peer and industry groups related to information security best
practices
Establishing relationships with law enforcement, academia and the security industry
