Parsons International have an exciting and challenging vacancy of an Infrastructure Design Manager to be based on one of the regions highest value projects. This is an opportunity to work on a career changing project in a company that is leading the way in the gulf.

The successful candidate will be Supporting the Design Management Group in providing providing direction and management of all design aspects related to the infrastructure requirements of this exciting project.
You will interface with the Consultant’s Design Team to monitor schedule and budget performance, work with Project and Program Level teams to identify potential risk areas and works to identify mitigation measures for implementation.
A key function is to manage the responses to design RFIs, review/comment on change orders, and provide overall supervision for the design direct reports.

Other key tasks and responsibilities include:

• Responsible for overall management of the infrastructure design services provided by others by managing a group of technical specialists.
• Responsible for managing the delivery of the design for the various portions of the numerous projects by verifying consistency in the designs produced by the design consultants with respect to adherence to the design criteria and required standards.
• Manages the scope development and tendering process by the senior engineering staff for procurement of the design consultants as well as third party reviewers.
• Participates in the VE and manages all VE studies, constructability and other workshops; and drives the on-schedule submittal of the design deliverables.
• Keeps Project Management Team informed as to changes made to ensure timely processing of contract change orders.
• Maintains overall knowledge of: drawings, specifications, general contracts and time schedules.
• Manages the responses to design RFIs and review/comment on change orders.
• Ensures all infrastructure design works are comprehensive and discussed with the various engineers for the best implementation and installation of services in coordination with other parties and contractor.
• May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies in public meetings to support the client.
• Provides necessary technical support and design review / audit services to project management team ensuring the correctness and quality of implementation of requirements.
• Supports the Project Management Director in performing other tasks as deemed necessary related infrastructure aspects of the project.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have experience working on large multi-million dollar projects with knowledge of all aspects of infrastructure, including water and utilities.

• 4-year degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree, and at least 15 years of related work experience, including demonstrated experience in a key management role. Experience in infrastructure-related design and/or construction commensurate with the construction of large industrial or infrastructural projects with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil designs. Registration as a professional engineer required.

• Proven ability to perform in a management role, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

Middle East experience would be beneficial.
