Infrastructure Engineer - Bath, UK

Working on a diverse range of fascinating projects that cover urban development, infrastructure planning and design, resource management, and programme delivery, our Cities business unit is at the forefront of innovation in the urban environment.

Working as part of a collaborative infrastructure team, you will apply your knowledge on general infrastructure on a daily basis for a diverse range of clients. Our ideal candidate will have a strong ability for either drainage or highways and will demonstrate a keen interest in sustainability and masterplanning. Responsibilities include:
- Undertake detailed civil engineering design
- Prepare technical schedules
- Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work
- Under guidance of senior staff, represent BH at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers
- Ensure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget
- Ensure that appropriate service/design decisions are met
- Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved
- Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team
- Ensuring all relevant BH staff are informed of client matters
- Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the clients and Buro Happolds best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc
- Actively work towards Chartered Engineering status
- Mentor and assist Graduate Engineers
- Commitment to CPD and self learning / development
- Strive to see that service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget
- Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved
- Ensuring all relevant BH staff are informed of client matters
- Contribute as appropriate to planning of project work
- Contribute to the planning of the teams workload

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of a 2:1 result
- Actively working towards professional registration status with a relevant institution
- Masters degree desirable
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD
- Drainage, highways and earthworks engineering design experience
- Working on a one to one basis and in team working situations
- Ability to communicate technical subjects
- Good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees and external clients
- Actively working towards professional registration status with a relevant institution

- AutoCAD Civils 3D
- WinDes MicroDrainage
- 12D
