BuroHappold Cities brings together the expertise of world class engineers, economists and consultants to examine cities from a variety of angles, giving our clients a unique picture of the challenges to tackle and the assets and opportunities their city can capitalise on. Working on a diverse range of fascinating projects that cover urban development, infrastructure planning and design, resource management, and programme delivery, our Cities business unit is at the forefront of innovation in the urban environment.

This position is for an Infrastructure Project Director to lead BuroHappolds team in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This purpose of this role is primarily to provide proactive in country project leadership for Infrastructure projects undertaken as part of Buro Happolds KAEC Industrial Valley Primary Infrastructure Framework Agreement as well as Industrial Valley Phase 2 Detailed Design and Construction Supervision. In addition to this, it is a key leadership role for the team in KAEC and an opportunity to enhance the Groups market knowledge and new business development activities in the City.

This will be achieved through:
- Exceptional leadership of projects, individuals, team and the department as a whole.
- Maintaining and developing the highest standards of technical quality; continuously developing the department through innovation and creativity.
- Dynamic and determined commitment to work winning and commercial performance; stretching boundaries and breaking new ground.

Project Management
- Project Director for King Abdullah Economic City, taking ownership for a sustained and productive client relationship.
- Successful delivery of services under the KAEC Industrial Valley Primary Infrastructure Framework Agreement as well as Industrial Valley Phase 2 Detailed Design and Construction Supervision.
- Maintaining an accurate picture of current and future market trends in order to establish the work focus for the team leaders.
- Taking responsibility for the engineering solutions while ensuring financial success.
- Delivering a risk managed project; working within agreed capital lock up parameters.

Team Leadership
- Mentoring Associates, Principal Engineers and Senior Engineers so that meaningful delegation can apply within the team.
- Ensure latest learning and development initiatives are implemented as required within the team.
- Champion delivery of the companys Performance and Development Review (PDR) process in support of all the above.
- Support the management of reward and recognition within the team.

Technical Leadership
- Participate in and ensure delivery of the process of high-level project technical/quality reviews of specifications, reports and drawings produced by the team.
- Maintain the skills balance within the group in line with the defined strategic direction.
- Direct the engineering design excellence within the team and ensure dissemination of best in class to rest of the Discipline Development Group (DDG)/Practice.

Requirements

- Strong track record of technical and project leadership in a global capacity.
- Experience leading teams on international projects.
- Must be proficient at operating in a global matrix organisation.
- Excellent communicator (verbal, written, listening) and competent at presenting.
- Degree educated.
- Chartered Engineer.
- Fluent in English.

Desirable
- Saudi Arabian/Middle Eastern commercial acumen.
- Fluency in another language is desirable.
