Job description / Role
ABOUT CLIENT:
An exciting opportunity with an established leading Middle East based National Oil Company.
JOB PURPOSE & SCOPE:
- Plans, supervises and implements planned, and ad-hoc assessment inspection activities on static equipment in assigned field/terminal.
- Carries out detailed technical assessment of equipment and material specifications to ensure conformity with appropriate construction codes and practices.
1. Plans and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the Inspection Unit. Performs supervisory duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by management for the position.
2. Carries out routine and non-routine tests and inspection programs on equipment.
3. Develops and administers contracts for inspection surveys of existing facilities. Sets criteria for selection of inspection contractors. Evaluate bids and recommends appropriate selection.
4. Uses engineering specifications and standards established for work to ensure mechanical integrity in relation to process requirements and adherence to relevant standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, BSI, BP, DIN, etc. with respect to materials, plant and equipment.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. B.Sc. Mechanical Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent supplemented with formal training in specialized inspection, QA and QC techniques.
2. Minimum 5 years inspection engineering in oil/ gas industry.
3. Practical experience in operating Quality Control and Quality Assurance and attendance of specialized training courses in welding and inspection techniques.
