Inspector of Works (Mechanical) - Sewage Treatment Plant - Ajman, UAE

As an inspector of the work you will report to and support the Resident Engineer or the Assistant Resident Engineer in supervising the contractors daily activities, monitoring and reporting on progress, quality and safety by undertaking inspections and documenting your findings to ensure that the work is being built in accordance with the drawings and specification (Contract). You will make the Resident Engineer aware of any defects or deficiencies that you observe. The projects which you will be working on comprise of construction of pumping stations, sewage treatment plants and water and wastewater networks. These projects are/will be located in the Emirate of Sharjah and other Northern Emirates.

The main project you will be assigned to comprises capacity upgrade for a Ajman Sewage Treatment Plant to treat additional 40,000 cubic meter of raw sewage per day. The form of contract is EPC and the conditions of contract are governed by FIDC Silver book and particular conditions of the contract.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Report to the Resident Engineer / ARE
- Inspections of the works based on Contractor's inspection schedule
- Respond to Contractor's inspection notifications
- Monitoring of progress and quality
- Complete inspection reports
- Complete a daily diary
- Record contractors progress and resources

Requirements

- Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent recognized technical qualification
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment used in pumping stations and water treatment plants
- Minimum of 7 years relevant experience
- Local (regional GCC) shall be preferred
- Experience in following the Inspection and Test Plans and Procedures
- Experience in water works/projects
- Experience of working on Sewage Treatment Plants would be an advantage
