Policies, Processes and Procedures:
Applies approved company processes and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

Day-to-day Management:
Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

Job Specific Accountabilities:
- Participates in daily meetings with operations & other maintenance departments to receive information on equipment maintenance problems, and provide suggestions, advice and guidance on faults, diagnostic procedures and repair routines. Inspect and diagnose equipment faults and breakdowns as requested, discusses faults with concerned personnel, identifies possible causes and appropriate maintenance procedures.
- Develops, improve, audit and prepare predictive & preventive maintenance program of Instrumentation Critical equipments such as DCS,ESD,PLC,VMS,BMS,GDS, Loading & Weighing, Bagging Systems, Electronic Governors etc.
- Review technical scope of work for modification / shutdown maintenance and major maintenance programs for Instrumentation equipment's in the plant.
- Responsible for reviewing, updating & modifying preventive maintenance procedures and standard maintenance procedures for Instrumentation equipments
- Provide technical support to supervisors and technicians to carry out complex troubleshooting of plant problems, recommending corrective actions, modifications or refurbishments.
- Participates in the detailed and overall planning of major equipment maintenance overhaul or shutdown in conjunction with other Maintenance Supervisors and liaises with maintenance planning over the incorporation of such plans into overall schedules
- Reviews Equipment History and analyse frequent failures and make recommendations to prevent recurrence of such failures
- Reviews, improve, Audit and prepare the Quality related Instrument Program and Procedures
- Establishes patterns of breakdown and common causes, reviews operating and manufacturers technical specifications and compares with operational logs to determine correct equipment running capacities and tolerances.
- Reviews possible design modifications and discusses these with Technical staff, compiles troubleshooting lists of fault tracing procedures and routines most likely to identify causes of fault and reduce plant stoppages to a minimum.
- Reviews specialized equipment maintenance procedures to establish the most efficient and effective repair methods for individual faults.
- Recommends new technology and techniques to improve existing systems.
- Manage training to Instrumentation Technicians on maintenance, and administers oral, written and filed demonstration tests of competence for Post qualifications. Administers and assesses Post qualification tests for Instrumentation technicians.
- Reviews updated equipment manufacturers equipment catalogues, drawings and parts lists with amendments received or changes made internally.
- Leads and participates in abnormal incident investigation related equipment failures
- Assist in preparing capital and operating budgets by identifying specific items to be included in budget submission.
- Reviews and approve bids related to direct capital and operating budget purchase requisitions.
- Liaises with manufacturers representatives as required in the installation, commissioning and post commissioning periods, to discuss and rectify any equipment deficiency. Liaises with Inspection Section to arrange for and follows up on physical testing and inspection of modifications and/or new installation.
- Participate in the PHA requirements of the plants meeting, Audit PHA implementation.
- Reviews shutdown job lists and contract scopes.
- Participates in testing and start-up of equipment upon completion of work. Carries out more complex fault finding, diagnosis and repair of equipment.
- Provides guidance and advice on actions to be taken on chronic problems and reviews requirement for major repair and spares replacements.
- Carries out troubleshooting of chronic failures and gives repair and test procedures.
- Performs other similar or related duties, as assigned. Includes ensuring observance of safety and fire rules and regulations.
- Ensures that all Instrumentation maintenance services are provided safely and efficiently in accordance with internationally recognized engineering standard.
Continuous Improvement:
- Reviews various skills required & recommend innovative systems / procedures that contribute to improve the reliability, availability and integrity of the plants Instrumentation equipment/system
- Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards
- Assists in the preparation of the section budget by preparing analysis and data as requested related to specific elements as directed.
- Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
- Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree Instrumentation
- Experience: Instrumentation Maintenance experience in oil, gas, petrochemical, chemical, fertilizers or related industry. Good knowledge of installation, commissioning, maintenance and trouble shooting of a variety of large and complex Instrumentation equipments in the oil, gas or petrochemical industry. Should have conducted successful RCA
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 15 years.
