Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Deliver timely Instrumentation Training Services to ensure levels of staff satisfaction, compliance and cost-control

Action training tasks and procedures:
- Ensure training materials are prepared to meet company competency training requirements
- Train the employees in his/her discipline as required
- Develop, prepare and provide written support materials for trainees
- Conduct assessments in the Instrumentation area
- Conduct technical recruitment assessments for the Instrumentation area
- Provide feedback to trainees and key clients on trainee progress and competency achievements
- Carries out designing and fabrication of training equipment in the Instrumentation area
- Ensure the training facility is prepared and in a safe condition to conduct training
- Provide on-the-job follow-up to training events to ensure competencies are transferred to the job
- Where training load is beyond ability of individuals; prepare and oversee the training of external providers in his/her discipline at the training facility
- Assist other training staff to ensure the best possible training is being prepared and delivered to meet company training requirements
- Developing Omani trainers in the line of Instrumentation area
- Developing Training Materials and Assessments for both the Instrumentation area
- Conduct the Multi Functional Technicians recovery program in both areas.
- Deliver basic Instrumentation programs

Monitor Instrumentation Training requirements:
- Maintain open communication with Line Managers on related training issues
- Ensure training events and training materials are prepared and ready to meet the schedule in a timely manner

Process improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures
- Leverage the SA technologies to increase efficiency
- Assist in preparing process flows

Area administration:
- Maintain the area filing systems , including policy updates. Ensure accurate version control

Reporting and policy:
- Analyse Instrumentation training material; prepare reports and recommendations to inform policy and key decisions:
- Gather all assessment results on weekly basis and capture them in the HRD Services template
- Coordinate and arrange for competency assessments to take place within incumbents area of responsibility
- Report the integrity and effectiveness of internal training activities
- Utilise internal training delivery mechanisms to support the departmental in -house training plan
- Provide accurate training statistics and records (in SAP) of all internally delivered events to HRD
- Periodically participate in the measuring of the success of training to the business bottom line
- Daily updates on results of time and attendance for both areas

Action the Sohar Aluminium Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures to maintain high EHS standards:
- Action the Sohar Aluminium EHS safety routines for own work area
- Action regular inspections to ensure safety. Raise notifications
- Maintain Sohar Aluminium housekeeping standards (5S) in own work area
- Carry out Maintenance of training equipment

Requirements

- Bachelor in related field with 6 years related field experience
OR
- Diploma in related field with 8 years related field experience

Skills:
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic

Generic Skills:
- Language: Fluent in English and Arabic. The Job -Holder must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken
- English and be able to read and understand business documents in English
- EHS: The Job-Holder must have the capacity to learn, understand and continuously execute the basic EHS policies and procedures which are required in a heavy industrial environment
- SAP: The Job-Holder must have the capacity to action relevant modules in SAP.

The Job-Holder is required to coach others in these applications.
