The Role


The Role


Job Purpose : Assume full responsibility for the handling of the day to day Insurance activities of the company.
To ensure conformity and compliance with International Standards on Safety and Risk.
To provide risk quality assessments as necessary to mitigate exposure

Accountabilities and Key Tasks:

•First line contact on all Insurance related matters affecting the wider organisation.
•Identifying and advising on physical hazards such as fire, theft, business interruption and covering each aspect of the company operations.
•Forming and maintaining relationships with Insurers, Brokers, Risk-adjusters and all other related third parties involved in Kenana Insurance policies.
•Arrange for Engineering Inspections of factory equipment and co-ordinate those activities from a Risk assessment perspective.
•Advise underwriters on new risks, risk exposures, loss estimates and risk improvement proposals
•Identify and analyze areas of potential risk to the assets, earning capacity, or success of organizations.
•Identify key risks and mitigating factors of potential investments, such as asset types and values, legal and ownership structures, professional reputations, customer bases, or industry segments.
•Conduct statistical analyses to quantify risk, using statistical analysis software and econometric models.
•Assess, document and communicate the risks inherent in the business and advise/recommend remedial action.
•Devise systems and processes to monitor validity of risk modelling outputs.
•Develop and implement risk-assessment models and methodologies.
•Plan, and contribute to development of, risk management systems.

Requirements


Requirements


•Graduate Chartered Insurer with a background in Risk Management and/or a member of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM).
•10 years of experience in a similar industry with a proven track record in risk assessment and improvement techniques
Skills and Competencies:
•A thorough understanding of Insurance and Risk at it applies to large-scale Agricultural businesses.
•Ability to motivate and encourage both Finance and Non-Finance staff.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
