Job description / Role
We are currently seeking motivated and passionate senior-level Interior Designers with experience in fast-paced project delivery for a 9 to 12 month assignment in Doha, Qatar. In this role you will work closely with the other leaders to take responsibility for and provide direction to ensure high-quality interior design. You will oversee the project design process including provision of technical expertise on specialized interior design, design guidance, and meeting client objectives.
Key Functions & Duties
• Lead and take responsibility for delivery from design development through to contract administration (including coordination of design, production, contract administration, and financial success) of the project
• Lead the interaction with clients on all administrative and management issues to ensure objectives are met and oversee project delivery
• Develop criteria, scope of services, detailed work plans, schedules, and resource requirements over the project lifecycle in alignment with Kasian processes and standards of quality and client requirements
• Plan interior design project team utilization including the projection of workload requirements to facilitate efficient allocation of firm-wide resources
• Actively manage project fee budgets and costs to ensure profitability; draft fee agreements and contracts
• Approve and control all time spent on projects, expenses, and consultant invoices
• Ensure client expectations are clearly understood and met by team
• Oversee team relationships with local contractors and engineers
• Assist with ensuring the financial success of projects
• Build relationships with clients through responding to program and budget requirements
Requirements
• Recognized degree in Interior Design coupled with a minimum of 10+ years of interior design expertise in commercial design
• Superior project management skills
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
• Fluent in English is required; Fluency in Arabic is considered an asset
• Advanced understanding of construction and the construction administration process
• Demonstrated strength using graphics software (AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Adobe Suite); Revit experience or knowledge is considered an asset
• Demonstrated leadership abilities including organizing and leading project teams
• Advanced conceptual design skills
• Openness and willingness to communicate and respond to the needs of the Firm, its people, projects and clients in a positive, professional, and supporting manner
