Internal Finance Auditor

Job description / Role

Hart is looking for a Internal Auditor/Project Accountant to provide leave relief for controllers in Iraq and Afghanistan and complete internal audit reviews whilst “on assignment” in these (and any other) countries. You will be required to complete ad-hoc projects as directed by the CFO, Dubai.

A summary of responsibilities include :
- The review and implementation of finance, accounting and administrative policies as directed by the CFO.
- Ensure all accounting SOPs have been properly implemented and adhered to and financial reporting is being produced strictly in accordance with the reporting guidelines and timetable.
- Carry out a partial or total Internal Audit review (as per SOP) as directed by the CFO Dubai.
- Provide leave cover for controllers in Iraq and Afghanistan (and other countries as required) ensure a smooth transition and handover of responsibilities (both upon arrival and departure)
- The review and implementation, where necessary, of such procedures and controls, thereby ensuring compliance with local taxation legislation in an efficient and effective manner. Such tax planning will consider the inclusion of management/technical fees, inter-company loans and interest, and the sub-contract arrangement of U.S. Embassy services (where applicable).
- Ensure all financial data needed for statutory and governmental returns is available in a structured manner, facilitating the correct recording and completion of such statistics and returns. Review transaction posting and direct and train incumbent personnel the correct procedure and accounts required to produce accurate and informative financial data.

Requirements

Requirements:

- BA in Finance/Accounting or equivalent professional qualification
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in an auditing role
- Demonstrated experience in Internal Audit practices
- Experience working in austere locations such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to travel to operational locations including Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, Galle

This position will require extensive travel to cover operational rotations. You must be eligible to obtain working visa's in the countries listed. It will include spending three weeks in Iraq, three weeks in Afghanistan, three weeks in Dubai.
