Edge Resourcing is the sole recruiter for this vacancy in the Oil industry. The position within Internal Audit & Controls is a brand new role, newly created due to the creation of a shared service centre in Dubai. This role represents an excellent opportunity to step into a rapidly growing, dynamic business.
Our clients HQ is in Europe and they have operations all over the Middle East region. Please note this role involves travel, initially for 50% of the month whilst the role is being established. Countries include Iraq and Kazakhstan.
Ensure adequacy of the Groups audit and control systems to minimize Operational, Financial and Compliance risks.
PRODUCE AUDIT PLAN
Prepare an annual audit plan (or for the next 12 months rather than a calendar year)
Plan to be split into 3 sections: a) financial audit plan, b) operational audit plan, and c) compliance audit plan
Each section will state the prioritisation rationale for the schedule and will show by month, which function or operation will be audited and the type of information the audit would identify
Specifically, audits plan for the next 3 months should include :
o Employee expenses compliance
o Payroll accuracy
o HR system security
o Recruitment process compliance
o IT system security
o Inventory management
o All payments and approvals
CONDUCT INTERNAL AUDITS
Execute the internal (financial, operational, and compliance) audits according to the plan, reporting the audit results based on the objectives listed in the plan.
COORDINATE AUDIT RECOMMENDATIONS
Coordinate the post-field work activities related to recommendations of audit reports approved by the Board, ensuring departmental managers perform the required actions within the timeframes agreed.
CHAIR PROCUREMENT COMMITTEE
Chair procurement committee per procurement procedures, ensuring value for money procurement transactions.
UNDERSTAND AND COORDINATE RISK MANAGEMENT
Understand the Group businesses and operational (including HR and IT systems), financial and compliance risks
Recommend to the Board assignment of risk management responsibilities for identified risks on an ongoing basis
Maintain central matrix of risk ownership across the Group, naming who is responsible for what risk where
CONDUCT SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS
Based on requests by Group Board, conduct special investigations related to controls, procedures and accounting records.
REPORT RISKS, NON COMPLIANCE AND STATUS OF OPEN AUDIT ITEMS
Monthly Risk Report: Monthly report of key internal control risks faced by the group at HQ, Group functions as well as the main operational businesses, identifying specifically where and how perpetrators can penetrate our financial and operational processes.
Monthly Non Compliance Report: Monthly report listing source, and magnitude of deficiencies and recommendation of how to prevent or improve them.
Monthly Audit Recommendations Update: Monthly report showing status of outstanding Audit recommendations.
Only Arabic speaking candidates are being considered for this role.
You must have a professional internal audit or accountancy qualification.
Extensive experience in audit
Currently living in Dubai
Experience in oil industry is preferable but not essential
Young dynamic personality is a must
