Employment: Full Time

Our client, one of the leading construction company in the region is currently looking for Internal Auditor who will examine and evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the organizations internal control systems and procedures and recommend corrective actions to improve operations, enhance internal controls and reduce costs where possible.

You will be reporting to Managing Director and responsible for;
- Preparation of a comprehensive full-scope Audit Plan to cover the audit cycle of the businesses, covering both Operational and Financial Audits and to address each risk area of the businesses, including a budget for costs related to the work. The Audit Plan should address the items set out below, which is not an exhaustive list.
- Contract Cost evaluation of on-going and tendered projects, including coordinating with Project Managers/Commercial Managers/Quantity Surveyors/Divisional Managers on Cost Control
- Ensuring compliance of the company policies and procedures by all departments, projects and employees and reporting any lapses.
- Surprise visits to branches, stores and project sites for spot inspections and reporting to senior management on the findings and rectifications.
- Auditing and reporting scrap disposals, wastage, defective materials and stock variances
- Coordinating with the Accounts Dept in preparation of the Final Accounts.
- Design and execution of Audit Programmes to implement the Audit Plan. The Audit Plan will cover each department and will include risk assessments across all aspects, business cycles and processes of the businesses, auditing policies and procedures to cover a representative sample of each type of transaction affecting company assets, liabilities, revenue and expenditure (capital and operating) with emphasis on high-risk areas and transactions. Where necessary, mapping of business processes should be undertaken together with the process owners.
- Verification of procurement of materials and services of sub-contractors and suppliers, includingpayments, purchase orders, bid tabs, supplier/subcontract agreements, labor hire, vehicle leases, asset purchases etc. to ensure company set guidelines and authority levels are correctly followed.
- Responsible for drafting Audit manual and critically reviewing and periodically testing internal control procedures and Procedures and Policy manuals
- Coordinating with internal auditors and company operational departments to implement the audit recommendations agreed with the Executive Committee.
- Liaising with Statutory Auditors and working with them, as appropriate in their audits.
- Submitting Audit Reports to senior management.

Requirements

- Must be a Chartered Accountant preferably with additional professional qualifications Certified Internal Auditor
- Minimum of 10-12 years post-qualification experience
- Field of experience: Minimum of 5 years with reputed construction company.
- Fluency in English, Additional Language is a Plus
- Competency in Microsoft Office and trained in accessing Candy and other ERP software
