One of the Middle East’s most established retail groups is currently looking for someone to join them to head up their internal communications, based in their Kuwait Headquarters. The ideal candidate needs to have extensive experience heading up corporate communications teams, preferably within a retail or FMCG organisation. The Internal Communications Manager works with individual brands within their area of responsibility to optimise their communications to store colleagues and to build an effective communications flow of news and information, both within the brand and across the wider business.

Responsibilities:
• Understand and map the brand teams’ approaches to internal communications – with focus on gap analysis and identifying / sharing best practice.
• Ensure that brands understand the Store Comms channel, its benefits and their role in supporting its success.
• Work with brands to source and prepare content for Store Comms and other channels to the appropriate level of quality.
• Review and clear all editorial content submitted by brand teams in area of responsibility, consistent with guidelines and SLAs.
• Support brands in achieving individual communications goals (advice, ideas, content support, etc) and in executing corporate initiatives.
• Provide guidelines, coaching and advice which helps to develop communications competencies within brands.
• Build relationships with individual brand teams – act as a communications business partner.
• Share relevant information with colleagues to support wider corporate internal and external communications agenda.
• Effective management of Internal Communications Executives.
• Accountable for budget management within area of responsibility.
• Manage workflow trackers and report on KPI and SLAs performance within their area of responsibility.

Requirements

The successful candidates will have:
• An experienced internal communicator with knowledge of all relevant tools and channels (announcements, cascade, digital channels, employee feedback, etc).
• Educated to university level – bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing or related subject.
• Understanding of working across multiple markets – knowledge of Middle East ideal.
• Internal communications or employee engagement specialist with 8+ years experience.
• Extensive brand experience as well as proven corporate background (retail preferred).
• Experience of employee engagement.
• Experience in managing teams and developing the skills of others.
• Excellent factual / creative writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail – excellent proof reading skills.
• Results focused individual - able to deliver multiple projects in timely fashion.
• Collaborative work style - adept at working in a matrix structure.
• Confident, empathetic individual.
