The RoleThe RoleThe Objective of this position is to lead processes aimed to adequately assess Risk in MEO and assist all areas in defining and executing action plans to achieve a strong Internal Control environment according to GM requirements. Concepts like SOX (in Finance) and PRM (focus on key Business Processes) among others, are essential elements to guarantee adequate Governance levels in GM. Success in this position largely depends on assisting all areas in internalizing and taking self initiative with regards to self-control / governance. Adequate controls and risk assessment are vital processes in new GM. This position has the responsibility to address risk and control issues in all business initiatives, processes and projects GM MEO is engaged on. As such, recommending and advising on preventive plans to evaluate and minimize risk as well as making decisions on corrective actions defined to assure compliance with GM and local regulations are part of the key aspects of the position Key elements of this role will be: 1.To assist all areas in improving their processes from a control / risk stand point 2.IC Analyst should be THE business partner for Dept Heads from a Control & Compliance stand point by jointly evaluating: a.The adequacy and effectiveness of Management Controls b.The status and timely execution of action plans agreed, providing f/back and assistance to implement strong controls in each area / process 3.Determine whether organizational units are performing their planning, accounting, risk management, or control activities in compliance with Management directions, Policies and Procedures PRM • Lead the PRM annual Plan definition and execution according the annual risk assessment (Target: no less than 20 modules per BU / year) • Plan PRM sessions with the process owners (Dept Heads / Managers) and document current processes • Match PRM Required Practice vs. current process and validate the process using technical sampling • Highlight deviations to Dept Heads and assure drafted action plans generated by process owners are meeting the controls required •Meet Dept Heads periodically to follow up and discuss on execution of Action Plans on proper and timely basis till closure (3 months) •Test check corrective actions on continuous basis •Maintain updated information on PRM site (During and after the walk through meeting) •Communicate PRM results to MEO Management and GMIO on quarterly basis (QAR / IC attestation by CFO / MD) •Work with the PRM office, GMIO and NA on PRM Technical issues SOX •Implement GMIO SOX annual plan and fulfill all requirements related to the implementation •Assure Compliance with SOX requirements throughout the organization •Communicate SOX results on MEO Leadership (CFO / MD) during unit quarterly attestation (10Q) Audit • Work with Management on analyzing audit Synopsis results to highlight any similar findings and follow-up on any corrective actions needed. • Support General Motors Audit Services (GMAS) during the field audit. • Support external auditors to assure the company’s statuary audit is performed successfully •Audit the scrapped material, witness the demolishing process and issue the related audit reports. •Lead process to assure adequate segregation of duties in MEO systems (VIRSA) •Conduct IT audits as necessary •Conduct any special investigations or audits required audit by Management •Lead the compliance on several tools (i.e. BCP (Business Continuity Plan, ILM (Information LifeCycle Management, etc”) |
RequirementsRequirementsKnowledge: Audit and Accounting Knowledge Skills: Decision Making, Accuracy, communication Problem solving and Analytical Skills, Professional level in Computer skills specially Excel and SAP, Excellent Oral and written English language Experience minimum of 3 years experience in Audit with one of the big 4 audit firms is a must. Experience in IT audits is essential Education: Bachelor Degree, CPA/CISA – Certified Information Security Auditor/CMA/CIA or equivalents Competencies: Leadership Skills, Managerial Courage, Drive for results, Written communication skills, Standing alone, Decision Making |
