The RoleThe RoleBP ME is well positioned for future growth in Oman. This is an exciting time and we need an engineer to build capability in our Wells Interventions & Integrity Team. This engineer will report to the Well Intervention and Integrity Engineering Team Leader and will help the team continue to deliver safe, reliable and economic production from our existing well inventory. This engineer will work on a number of different levels. They will work with our internal customers (sub-surface team, especially base management) to select, define and progress intervention & integrity projects. They will liaise with production engineers, field operations personnel and others to ensure that these projects are engineered appropriately & prioritized to meet region's AOP. They will supply our wellsite leaders with written programs which will guide them through project execution. During this time they will remain available to provide clarification, advice and additional engineering project design required which could include a site visit. They will work with 3rd party suppliers to ensure that selected materials, equipment and technologies are suitable for the project, and that options are identified and evaluated to reduce overall business and HSSE risk. - Preparation of documents for the execution of Intervention, Integrity or abandonment well operations. This will include a detailed program, cost and time estimates, well history (if applicable), risk mitigation plan and detailed equipment requirements. - Ensuring these programs meet the goals and objectives of the project and comply with all relevant legislation, Industry Recommended Practices and BP Policies. - Continuously monitoring operations during execution phase, making operational decisions in conjunction with the Completions Superintendent & Wellsite Leader, generating the appropriate Management of Change (MOC) to cover changes in operations plan, cost or work scope, if required. - Where appropriate will host and participate in peer review meetings and engage technical experts elsewhere in the company to identify & work through alternative project solutions. - Participation in Well by Well reviews with Base Management Teams to help identify Wellwork production improving opportunities. - Work diligently to support and improve BP's HSSE (Health Safety Security and Environment) activities. - Actively participate in BP's Excellence career development program. |
RequirementsRequirementsDegree in Engineering or related subject To be considered for the role of Wells Interventions & Integrity Engineer applicants must have a Degree from an accredited institution and be legally able to work for any employer in Canada. As well the applicant must be eligible for, or currently possess professional certification from APEGGA or equivalent. A strong track record as an Interventions / Completions Engineer including expertise in Wireline, Slickline, Coiled Tubing, Stimulation and flow assurance is required including: - Knowledge of sour gas corrosion management and well integrity management. - Design and planning skills, personal commitment and proactive approach to HSSE and process safety, - Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, demonstrated by an ability to work with and across multi-disciplinary teams. - A willingness and ability to travel in order to fulfil the responsibilities of this position, as needed.. - Strong technical knowledge of completions design and operations, and ability and desire to mentor and train new hire entry level completions engineers - Experience with analysing and implementing new technology - Ability to complete tubing stress/movement analysis and design |
