Job description / Role
Develop the companys inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs and maximize working capital and manage the companys production material and stocked product inventory, including stock profiles and stock locations. Supervises and coordinates a perpetual inventory record of material, supplies and other general stock items.
Requirements
- Provides accurate, current inventory data for purchasing decisions.
- Maintains inventories at optimum levels to prevent under-or-over investment in stocks.
- Supervises and coordinates the taking of periodic physical inventories.
- Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation.
- Prepares reports of inventory balance, shortages, as and when required.
- Corresponds with vendors concerning inquiries about merchandise ordered.
- Supervises and coordinates disbursement and delivery of supplies.
- Oversees work performed by support staff.
- Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant raw materials.
- Provide routine MI on inventory performance.
- Be responsible for managing and running planned stock takes and perform cycle counts.
- Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the inventory system are controlled and any discrepancies highlighted and resolved.
