Investment Analyst

Job description / Role

Investment Analyst undertakes fundamental equity research for use in investment decision making. The information he/she provides enables the fund manager/other senior analysts to make informed investment decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop an understanding of the financial information related to: companies, industries, economic and political scenarios.
- Analyze financial statements, make future projections and build valuation models
- Research and develop in-depth sector reports
- Conduct regular meetings with the managements of companies
- Keep abreast with economic and stock market developments
- Monitor financial results, news and developments regarding companies and sectors
- Write research reports, make investment recommendations and defend them in meetings with fund managers/investment committee
- Build data bases and financial models regarding companies under coverage
- Attend industry conferences to broaden knowledge about sectors/companies

Requirements

- Background in Finance/Accounting or in any other quantitative discipline (Statistics, etc.)
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and/or Arabic
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a team environment
- 2 - 3 years experience of analyzing companies in an institutional setting
