Employment: Full Time

Junior Activity Officer (fluent in spoken English & Arabic)
Salary: 6,000 AED
Sharjah, UAE

Our Sharjah based client is looking for young energetic individuals to work at their family friendly educational activities centre as a Junior Activity Officer.

Responsibilities:
* To assist in the preparation and delivery of on and off site events (e.g. corporate events, birthday parties, mobile animal care, fun days, childrens camps etc.)
* Setting up and cleaning the venue after the event (i.e. moving chairs, tables, decorating an area, putting up signs etc.)
* To deal sympathetically and effectively with customer problems and difficult situations.
* To deal with as appropriate and report any safety hazards to the line manager at the earliest opportunity
* To conduct all activities in a manner which promotes and enhances the centres policies, image and reputation
* To ensure all visitors have an enjoyable learning experience and will want to return again

Working Conditions:
* This role can be physically demanding. There is a lot of walking involved. Successful applicants will need to have a good level of fitness.
* There may be a number of activities happening at once, so you must be adaptable and be able to multitask
* The work is very hands on, and activities take place both inside and outside on the farm. A love for animals is, of course, essential but you also need to have a strong emotional backbone and the ability to put personal emotions on hold, to handle the job in front of you.
* Must understand that parts of the job include risk of animal bites, scratches, etc.
* We operate a clean as you go policy which ensures that work areas are left clean and tidy at all times
* Working hours are 08:30 18:00 (5.5 days a week) and does require weekend work normally 3 out of 4 weekends per month

Requirements

Criteria:
* Candidates must be 18 years of age or older
* Desirable to have any teaching related experience or qualification
* Lots of enthusiasm, a sense of humour and patience are essential
* Ability to follow written instructions; speak clearly and concisely, in English and Arabic is essential.
* Good communication skills are vital as youll have lots of contact with the public. Keen observation skills help as youll need to monitor the behaviour of the animals during activities and in your care
* Confidence to deliver programs to large groups
* Flexibility and a can do attitude are critical to this role
* Be able to work both independently and within a large team
* Ability to priorities work and meet deadlines independently
* First aid qualification, desirable
