Employment: Full Time

This position is responsible for retaining and growing the revenue and market share within the Gulf and Levant regions, focusing on aligning Thomson Reuters IP&S offering to the national and institutional priorities.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Sales for IP & Science, Middle East, North Africa, & Turkey. The Key AM is expected to develop and maintain client relationships to ultimately drive the business growth of Scholarly & Scientific Research, Life Sciences and Intellectual Property Solutions (IP&S) in the Gulf and Levant regions. This will be achieved by engagement with government bodies to understand the strategic needs and aligning them with Thomson Reuters IP&S opportunities.
This will be achieved through close collaboration with specialist teams across the globe. Account Plans are to be developed for agreed strategic accounts to ensure the retention and growth of Thomson Reuters IP&S business.
The successful candidate will be also accountable for ensuring the customer base is renewed, net new business is added and market share is increased.

Responsibilities:
• Manage, retain and grow revenue; responsible for sales and accountable for service performance (may include new sales and revenue quota attainment).
• Acquire detailed in-depth knowledge of Thomson Reuters IP & Sciences products and to keep that knowledge up-to-date.
• Organise customer visits efficiently and maintain customer satisfaction with all Thomson Reuters' IP & Science services and functions.
• Achieve the annual retained and net new sales targets for the specified territories by maximizing sales of Thomson Reuters IP&S products increasing market penetration. Defend market share against competition.
• With the Regional Sales Manager, develop the strategic territory plan (to include marketing, customer training, sales support services etc.)
• Nurture the customer relationship to the highest standard and assist in developing the overall customer relationship management strategy to be implemented across all markets and accounts.
• Maintain relationships with key decision makers.
• Collaborate with specialist team and/or other business units where required and have oversight of all account activities.
• Responsible for forecasting, keeps management in touch with accounts in a timely fashion, gathers intelligence on competitor activity, and gives feedback to other internal stakeholders.
• Act as a point of contact for the client, provides escalation path, and attends to customer issues promptly as appropriate.
• Track customer activity in internal systems in order to execute on account strategy and identify additional opportunities.
• Maintain up to date product knowledge on all products and solutions. Scope and Impact:
• Drive overall customer satisfaction for assigned accounts.
• Develop and deliver go to market plan for West Africa.
• Will be responsible for net sales and revenue for a portfolio of accounts.
• This is an individual contributor role and does not have people management responsibilities.
• Work under general supervision of manager.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Degree (MA level) or equivalent in one of the following areas: Business Administration, Intellectual Business Management, Bioscience, Medicine, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Health Care Science (Life Science) related discipline.

Required skills:
• Ability to manage and generate revenue from existing customers through a conscientious and driven approach with excellent customer management skills.
• A keen ability to extend the customer contact base through to new business channels and to develop the strategic alignment to accounts.
• Commercial acumen; with a proactive and creative approach to looking after the needs and concerns of customers and an understanding of the role of customer training as an integral part of the sales process
• Excellent communication and influencing skills through verbal and interpersonal presentation.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to both small and large groups and to handle questions in a commercially astute and sensitive manner.
• Well organised and disciplined team player in regards to policy, procedure and standards.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and be flexible in changing environment

Desired skills:
• A commercial awareness and technical appreciation of the patent and scientific information industry.
• Appropriate granular knowledge and understanding of the Health Care science (Life Science) and Intellectual Business Management and its key drivers.
• Consulting background with strong analytical and planning skills

Language skills:
• Fluency in English and Arabic; written and verbal skills
